Proposal For Profit
Thanks... for taking the time to learn how you can profit from doing your own TownTshirts in your area. Following is a rundown on the entire program as I see it. Of course, it is subject to change, especially if you have any suggestions to make it better.
It's important to know that I am working closely with Karl Dowhie on this program. Because of our 15+-year relationship and my 30 years of graphic design experience, Karl has given me his blessing on these Tees along with exclusive rights to producing them using his cartoon art. So, if you want to do a Cartoon Tee, using Karl's copyrighted artwork, you'll need to work with me at TownTshirts to pull it off ;-)

AD Sales & Rates

AD Sales Profit is
over $5,000!

To begin with, you will want to sell about 25 to 30 regular size business ads (the smaller ads from your cartoon map). There will be room for only 2 or 3 Balloon Ads or double-size ads. The image area for your montage art is about 13" wide by 17" tall. The example shown here reflects 28 regular ads and 2 balloon ads.

When you tally the numbers for these sales, you will generate about $10,850.00 in revenue. Obviously, if you decided to change the rates to suit your market, these numbers will change accordingly.

Production Costs
|

Costs associated with the production of TownTshirts include the prepress design work, including scanning all of the ads from your cartoon map(s), touch-up, sizing, shadow effects, layout of the montage (collection of all ads into an appealing format), lettering the Town Name for the front (pocket placement) and top of the montage on the back, and handling of all these orders as they come in. This will amount to no more than $1,500.00 complete.

You will need to account for the cost of the 20 FREE Tees that you will need give each of your advertisers in exchange for their ad fee (40 Free Tees for each of 2 Balloon Ads). With 28 advertisers getting 20 each, and 40 going to two other advertisers, you will have 640 free tees to be delivered.

for a total of 640 Tees at your cost!

Keep in mind that you now have 30 retail outlets built into your marketing system for retail distribution. And, once they sell those tees (to recover their ad cost), they will continue selling them for future income profits. Of course, you will want to set up as many other retail outlets as you can in your market for maximum sales potential each year.

Screen Printing Costs

We work with an established 4-color process screen printer in Atlanta, Georgia called "Squeegy Sharks." Their cost to us for a minimum of 600 shirts is $4.75 each - this is for a 2-color front (pocket) logo about 4" wide, and 6-color printing (4-color process and 2 spot colors as needed) for the back montage art.

There are some royalties that will need to be charged for (with the agreement to design, sell and distribute TownTshirts). This will amount to $1.75 per shirt for as long as they are printed. These royalties will be paid to Karl Dowhie, for his artwork, BARK Marketing for overall T-shirt design and production and to another firm that will manage Fulfillment (delivery of blank tees to screen printer and shipping of the first batch to T-Owners as well as all shipping to retail outlets as they are reordered).

To realize your NET PROFIT on overall Ad Sales, you'll need to subtract the cost of 640 'Free Tees,' for a total debit of – $4,160.00. This leaves you with TOTAL PROFIT OF...

Of course, there is a nice $2.00 commission on each TownTshirt that will go to YOU, the T-Owner, for each and every cartoon T-shirt sold in your market (after the 1st batch of 'free tees').

Your next step is determining how many TownTshirts you can sell in your market. If you add 20 more retail outlets to the 30 sponsor outlets (above), and get those 50 stores averaging about 50 tees per year, you'll earn $5,000 a year in royalties yourself, without doing much of anything, except taking orders.
